I'm here to write to you a little bit about music over the next few months! I am a huge music fanatic and I believe that the right song can convey any emotion or attitude. I think music is extremely important for everyone. I currently intern at Clear Channel Media and Entertainment so I have been working with some radio stations in the area which sparked my interest for this blog.
I think trends and popularity in music are extremely important in understanding different generations today. What makes a person listen to song or buy an album? What is that is appealing to the masses and how do artists figure it out? According to KC101 DJ Adam Rivers, there are two main factors in creating a hit song, having a strong label or having a unique sound.
A strong label can help an artist stay in touch with their fans and get a good feel for what people want to hear. Label's push a certain genre of music to a certain audience and develop the relationship between audience and artists. Another way an artist can get attention is by releasing something people aren't hearing everyday. By creating a new sound or resurrecting an old familiar sound an artist can get noticed by fans first and then get brought into the limelight.
Over the next months I am going to bring some new music to everyone's attention. I will post a new song that I personally love but is not played on the radio yet. I will also post a song being played on the radio or pushed through social media. I will analyze both songs and explain the positives and negatives of each song and what makes them trendy to a target audience!
